Task 3 : Kerupuk Pasir
Hello guys! This is my third post in my blog. In this time, I will tell you about the special snack from my region, Kendal. This snack is from Kaliwungu, one of the sub-district in Kendal. The people called it “Kerupuk Pasir”. Kerupuk Pasir, or better known as Kerupuk Useg, is a popular snack in this city. The people call it as Kerupuk Pasir because it is fried by using a sand, not an oil. And “Useg” (Java) has the meaning that the frying process is rubbed in the sand. The ingredients to make this snack are tapioca flour, salt, shrimp paste, flavor, coriander, garlic, and food coloring. Then, all the ingredients are mixed and milled and then it is shaped like a noodle. After then, it is boiled around 15 minutes and then it is dried under the sun. The drying process is about 5-6 hours. After dry, it is dipped in garlic marinade and then it has to dried under the sun again until actually dry.
